A Biblical Approach to Racial Unity

with Monique Duson of The Center for Biblical Unity

Many Christians want to stand for racial unity, but don’t know how. And many approaches to “racial reconciliation” can create more problems than they solve. In this session, Monique Duson, founder of Center for Biblical Unity, will help us understand a Biblical approach to racial unity.

About Monique Duson

Monique Duson has a background in social service and children’s ministry. She has worked with a diverse array of under-served communities.

Monique worked as a Missionary to South Africa for over four years, serving children and teachers impacted by drugs, violence, and trauma.

She spent two decades advocating for Critical Race Theory (CRT), but through a series of events, began to clearly see the contradictions of CRT with the historic Christian worldview. Monique is now convinced that CRT is not the best way to achieve racial unity and actively speaks out against the use of CRT within the church. Her mission is to promote a vision for racial healing based on the historic Christian worldview.

Monique has appeared on shows such as Relatable (with Allie Beth Stuckey), the Alisa Childers podcast, and Breakpoint (with John Stonestreet). Monique has a BA in Sociology from Biola University. She is working on a MA in Theology.

I knew I was going to love this session, and Monique did not disappoint. As Linda kept saying, there were so many take-aways and, following all the rabbit trails, could have kept the conversation going a whole day. Some might come here expecting some brilliant new insight, but the simple truth she kept sharing was to go back to the Word. Live by the Word. Ask God to search your heart. Wow! If we truly put this into practice, this conversation would be so different. Thank you for reminding us that the Truth covers all.

Monique is one of my favorite Christian podcasters! I have the Reconciled curriculum, and am slowly working through it on my own. Thanks for bringing her to this conference so others can hear about her ministry.

Rich conversation! I appreciate your perspective and for reminding us that we are God’s image bearers and how we can incorporate biblical principles even in a public school setting. I also appreciate what was said about how we’re living in a time when teachers are going to have to take a stand, even if it means a loss of job and how the church needs to rally behind those who are forced to do this like they did in the book of Acts. Lately, I’ve come to realize the same truth about taking a stand even if it comes to walking away from a job I enjoy. Thank you.

  • Sharon says:

Thank you, Monique, for this session. I love what you said about our identity as an image bearer, as a child of God, and all having the same dignity, value, and worth.

  • Wow! I am so grateful to God that you are my sister in Christ and that you love the Word (Jesus and the Bible). So often “Christians” leave out the fact that we are God’s Image bearers (one race) and that we can find an answer for life situations through the lens of the Bible, not from the world’s perspective. His Word is complete for us. I’m praying for you and your ministry.
